Teaching and technology can't be done without each other in the classroom. With all the changes happening in the world it's important to stay on top of being educated when it comes to technology. Which means being educated and properly trained in technology access, which is something that I strongly believe in.
As a current substitute teacher, I see how advanced children are with technology and how they tend to learn more from it than being distracted by it. As a future educator, I plan on incorporating technology into my classroom efficiently so every student can benefit from the amount of knowledge that comes from any device.
When I first started studying to be a teacher, I had no idea how to use many technology applications an LMS in the classroom. As my studies advance so does my love for technology, and wanting to become a teacher already just so I can show all the students the wonderful things that can be done online.
In my classroom I will incorporate Google Classroom with a mixed media of online and in person applications. have students watch the lesson on their Chromebook or tablets and then they can take notes using a sheet of paper. When they finish, they will then complete a game using Kahoot to see what they learned, I will then have them create an infographic based on the things they learned from the classroom. I've learned that when you give students the freedom to be creative then it's easier for them to understand and actually want to create something.
I think all educators should put time into learning all they can about technology since its what will determine how much students learn from your classroom. With so many advancements in technology its important to stay informed.
Thak you for pushing us to stay current and for modeling lifelong learning!
